Compiling data from official Hometrack and Zoopla reports, both Glasgow and Manchester scored 28 out of a possible 30.
Glasgow was the best rental return at 6.8%, earning a perfect score of 10. The Scottish city also fared well on annual percentage growth in property value (14.1%) and transport links.
